I know a lot of you have been waiting for the release of this plugin for the last few months and I apologize for the delay, we had some problems with the direction we originally took with its development and decided to start over again. But I have to say I think that it's been worth it and I hope you will think so too!
The original concept of the CompariPress plugin was to utilize one affiliate network to enable you to complete easy price comparisons in the smallest amount of time, but the main downside to this was that the affiliate network you would need to be a part of was taking forever and a day to approve new affiliates into their network and into their developer program. This is where we took a change of direction and CompariPress PCU was born.
CompariPress PCU (Price Comparison Unit) will allow you to select items from multiple affiliate networks and display them within the pages or posts of your WordPress affiliate website in the form of a tidy PCU. The affiliate networks currently supported by the plugin are:
- Amazon Associates which includes Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and the Amazon Marketplace
- CJ.com which includes both US and UK based merchants
- Linkshare.com which again includes both US and UK based merchants
We are looking to add more affiliate networks through future upgrades of the plugin, at this time though those three networks alone will give you access to millions of products from thousands of merchants across the UK and the US. You can see an example screenshot of a PCU for the'TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider Putter' below:

Throughout the development of the plugin we have tried to give you as much control as possible whilst still trying to maintain its ease of use and we think we've achieved this quite well with the many features we have included in this release. Here are just a few features of the CompariPress PCU plugin:
- Change the look, feel and width of your price comparison units with colors, images and custom buttons
- Display products from Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon Marketplace
- Display products from CJ.com US and UK
- Display products from Linkshare.com US and UK
- Choose the display/header name of each unit
- Automatically choose which post/page to display each unit on from within admin
- Ability to refine your product searches with positive and negative keywords
- Ability to refine your product searches with maximum and minimum prices
- Ability to filter products by Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk product category
- Ability to filter products by Linkshare product category
- Ability to Edit any PCU on your site and add or delete products
- Ability to Delete any PCU on your site
- Create unlimited PCU's with unlimited products
If you are interested in this plugin there will be a discounted price available for the first few days when its released, I will also be releasing it to the pre-notification list around 24 hours before it's released to the public, so if you want to you can get yourself onto the pre-notification list at CompariPress.com.
If you have any questions about the plugin please feel free to submit them below and I'll look forward to answering them.

can’t wait for this to come out =)
p.s. where does it get the info from CJ? Their API or datafeeds that we place on our site?
Thanks Daniel :)
It uses the CJ API, we did start with Datafeeds and then swapped over to the API. We actually use API feeds with all of the networks in this version.
Ben
Ben,
I’ll be holding off on my ReviewAzon, PHPZon purchase for this one.
Jeff
I appreciate that Jeff, I hope won’t disappoint. Personally I love the plugin but then I’m biased :).
Ben,
Good job on switching from Shopping.com! I was actually *not* going to buy this plugin when I thought it was associated with Shopping.com, which is essentially the same type of affiliate program as EPN (and we all know how much fun EPN is these days).
Excellent switch! Amazon + CJ + Linkshare = better affiliate programs and far greater versatility.
Well done, young sir.
rsr
Thanks a lot, there were a few things which pulled me away from the SDC version for now, as I say one of them was approval taking around 2 months which was rediculous.
Well, hope you like it when you get to try it.
Ben
Ben this looks great! I’m always helping our affiliates launch WP sites, we have a free tool for it. I think this will be a tremendous compliment to it!
Hi Ben
Is the code output script or php? I mean is there any SEO benefit?
.-= Truckster´s last blog ..Make More Money With Reviewazon =-.
Hi Fletch,
The script is php, similar to how phpBay, phpZon or phpOStock works. You will be able to assign each price compare unit to a post automatically from within the admin area simply by selecting it from a dropdown list, this unit will then appear below the content by default, if you want it to appear anywhere else you simply insert the simply 3 letter shortcode where you want the unit to appear.
I hope that helps.
Ben
Hi Ben
Sorry, nuther ?
Will we have to sign up with each individual merchant, like Popshops?
.-= Truckster´s last blog ..Make More Money With Reviewazon =-.
No your okay, keep em coming :).
Yes you will, the original concept behind CompariPress was that you wouldn’t have to signup to individual merchants and affiliate networks however due to the reasons mentioned above we shelved this idea for later release.
This was also partly down to people’s huge change in perception when it came to eBay and any company associated with them.
Ben
Thats cool, looking forward to it.
.-= Truckster´s last blog ..Make More Money With Reviewazon =-.
Good stuff, hope you like it :).
Ben
Hi Ben,
How exciting! This sounds like it’s going to be a wonderful plug-in for everyone with a niche site. Have been watching your blog for it’s release ever since I heard about it. I can understand the changes and it all sounds like it will be for the better. Hope all is well with you!
Melissa
Hey Melissa,
Lovely to hear from you :) Are you well?
Thank you, I’ll be posting more about the final release date right here but just want to get a few things tweaked with it first.
Speak to you soon.
Ben
I’m doing great! Crazy as ever. :) Thanks for asking. How have you been?
Look forward to hearing more about it. Knowing you, I’m sure this is going to be awesome and I can’t wait to tell everyone all about it. From the description, I feel a new tutorial series coming on. LOL
Talk to you soon.
Melissa
Not bad thank you, same as yourself really just very busy but then I shouldn’t complain :).
Well I really do hope it meets up to expectations, I’m confident you will all LOVE it!
Catch up soon!
Ben
Hi Ben,
This is good news, will be adding this to a few sites.
Looking forward to the release date.
Mark
Hi Ben,
I am happy, excited, and elated that you have moved away from the shopping.com / ppc version of the plugin.
That was a definite deal breaker for me.
As it sits now ComparPress looks like a fantastic plugin that will add tremendous value.
Beau
Hi Ben,
Will the prices automatically update as they change on the vendors site or will this be something we will have to babysit?
Thanks
Larry
Thanks Mark,
Glad your looking forward to the release, hope your new sites are doing well.
Ben
Beau,
Thank you for that, it’s similar to A LOT of feedback I’ve recived, I think once ePN pissed everyone off so much the PPC option just didn’t suit well anymore, especially considering it’s an eBay company. I feel more comfortable knowing that my users of this plugin shouldn’t have too many problems getting into affiliate programs, which is more than can be said for Shopping.com
Thanks for stopping by.
Ben
Hey Larry,
Great question!
In this version we have included a ’1 click update’ function which means you click one link in your admin area and sit back while all the PCUs, prices and products are updated for you sidewide. We did develop a more automated method as a second option for you to choose from, but unfortunately we had some teething problems with it so it won’t be included in this version but we DO aim to add it back in a future upgrade.
Thanks for your question.
Ben
Hi Ben, Most of my sites are PHP based and do not run WordPress, do you have a PHP version I can “include” inside my sites in a comparison section. I can show you an example if you need to see. Thanks.
Hi Carl,
We don’t currently have a php or API based version but it maybe something we look at in the near future if it’s something that people want. We have an ‘off site’ version which enabled you to create a PCU on our servers and display it on your own sites but that’s not something we’re making public at the moment I’m afraid.
Thanks for your interest.
Ben
Hi Ben,
I was just wondering whether or not you will be including a sidebar widget / or php code for the side bar in a future version.Just a thought.
Beau
Beau,
That’s certainly something we could look into, it wouldn’t be hard to do but it would be a case of working out how you wanted it to work and what you wanted it to do in the way of functionality.
But I’ve created a board in the forum specifically for this product and within that there is a place for feature requests so we are always open to ideas.
Ben
Hi Ben
Wondered where this has gone. looks great. Well done
Lol :), now you know Cherie.
Ben
Hi Ben,
I hope you’ll get the auto update functionality up and running quickly. Having to check my sites daily to update them does not appeal to me at all and I definitely don’t want my visitors clicking on links and getting a surprise.
Jeff
.-= Jeff Jones´s last blog ..Using Dropbox With Market Samurai =-.
Hi Jeff,
I completely understand what you are saying but you certainly don’t need to update your sites daily as products aren’t going to be changing that often. At the moment I do it along side other scheduled tasks such as dealing with 404′s, updating plugins, updating the maxmind databases for geo targeting etc.
We’ll certainly get this feature implemented as soon as we can though.
Thanks for stopping by.
Ben :)
Sorry, Ben.
I forgot this isn’t an EPN affiliate plugin so it’s not that important to update the products and prices. And thank God for that!
Jeff
.-= Jeff Jones´s last blog ..Using Dropbox With Market Samurai =-.
No problem Jeff :), yes if it was an ePN plugin I would say it HAS to be done daily but in that case we wouldn’t release it yet.
We”re actually working on that new function at the moment so fingers crossed it maybe something we can get into the plugin either by next week or certainly the very near future.
Thanks
Ben
question.
What about our previous posts. will we have to go back and select a price comparison for every one or will there be a simplified method. Is it possible to have the price comparison auto fill? I have heard of a shopzilla plugin that does the this.
Hi Rufus,
You will have to add the PCUs to previous posts, if you can think of a way to simplify that part then we would certainly love to hear it:) but essentially a PCU MUST be created and MUST be assigned to a post, there is no getting around that. We have actually simplified the process GREATLY by eliminating the need for post/page shortcode, this means unless you want to change the default insert location of the PCU then you actually never have to visit a post when assigning, editing, updating or removing a PCU.
In all honesty it doesn’t take that long to do, I filled an entire review site of 50 posts yesterday in just under 1 hour.
With regards to auto filling, the Shopzilla plugin uses one API which I believe is based on the Shopping.com affiliate API. This is how CompariPress originally started by using the Shopping.com API and would have enabled you to simply add one product or keyword and you would have had a list of price comparisons a long with the product you were displaying. In fact I still have this version running on one of my own sites. But ALL of the work is done by their API, you have to do nothing server side other than parse and display the results AND you have very little control over the products you display in the way of price comparison offers. In fact, unless you were using a specific item number we found the results to be very un-predictable. Secondly you would only have earned PER CLICK, which (from feedback) was something a lot of people were not that happy about. Whereas with CompariPress you are earning a full affiliate commission which could be anything up to 10% and above depending on the merchant and the product sold.
Making the plugin auto create price comparisons IS possible but it would take away almost all of the control we are giving you over selecting which products you want to display. What you have to imagine is that with Shopzilla you are using one search engine, one database and one affiliate program, with CompariPress you are using 3 affiliate networks, thousands of merchants and millions of products so you really do have a massive diversity from an affiliate point of view.
I hope this helps in answering your question.
Thank you for stopping by :)
Ben
Hey Jeff,
Just as a quick update on this, we spent yesterday working on this feature and now have it fixed, up and running, so you can dis-regard the above now as you PCUs will automatically update daily so no need for you to worry:).
Ben
That’s awesome, Ben.
Look forward to getting the plugin and converting my ePN sites to anything else-LOL!
.-= Jeff Jones´s last blog ..Using Dropbox With Market Samurai =-.
Hi Ben,
I purchased your phpOstock plugin few months ago, it works great for my niche sites!
Look forward for this plugin! :)
Do you have a plan for the price? Will it be recurring or will it be one time purchase?
Thanks!
Michael
.-= Michael´s last blog ..Baby Travel Systems Get You And Your Baby Moving =-.
Hi Michael,
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed using phpOStock :).
I’m not revealing a final price yet but I will say that you will not have to pay a recurring subscription and I will be setting a 30% discount for the first 7 days.
Everyone on the CompariPress.com pre-launch list will receive access 24 hours early and I’ll be announcing the date and time very soon for that very soon!
Thank you for your interest.
Ben
Hi Ben,
Another customer of yours as well here :)
Just got your email regarding the Comparipress.
Can’t wait for the launch!
Any plan for affiliate program here?
Thanks,
Hendra
.-= Hendra´s last blog ..The Best Spinner Reviews – Example of My Spun Article Included =-.
Hi Hendra,
Thank you for stopping by :).
Certainly, I’ll launch the affiliate program after the launch period at some point.
Ben
Hi Ben!
Is there a component of CompariPress in your new product called Niche Site Platform?
Thank you for your reply!
Hi Tess,
The only part which functions as a price comparison type section is the Shopping.com function of NSP. CompariPress is really completely different to any aspect of NSP and I would struggle to even compare them. If you love WordPress then CompariPress may be for you, if you’re not really into WordPress then NSP is definitely for you.
Hope that helps.
Ben :)
Looks like an amazing piece of software. Are there any coupons or promotions for this year? :)
@ Joe – thanks for the interest Joe. There are some coupon codes out there if you do a search for CompariPress coupon ;)
