Niche Site Platform Early Preview

Written By Ben Johnson on 28 April 2010 12 People Commented

Niche Site Platform Is Now Live - 30th April!

I've finally managed to get everything swapped over to my new server, it's taken most of the day with propogation etc which is why I am so late releasing this preview. Anyway, you can now head over to Niche Site Platform and have a look for yourself to see what I've put together and some of the features which are going to be on offer in my Niche Site Platform.

In addition to the sales page I have also opened the Affiliate access, so if you would like to earn yourselves 30% of the Niche Site Platform sale price then feel free to signup for an Affiliate account and start promoting. All of your Affiliate links will have a 90 day cookie so your good for referrals even if you refer before I release the platform to the public.

If you have any questions you would like to ask then please feel free to submit them below or if you would like to contact me personally, please submit a ticket to the support desk and I'll get back to you as soon as I can (which will probably be when I've had some sleep).

I'm aiming to launch on Friday at 12pm (EST), I just have a few loose ends to tie up before then.

As I've mentioned before, I've put A LOT of hard work into this and truly hope you like the end result of what I've produced.

Wow Ben. That looks like a serious piece of software. I like your demo site. How long did it take you to build a site like that? Looking forward to the release.

    looks great, Ben…. as expected.
I love the versatility, without the need for so many different plugins.

    Hi Jay,

Thanks for that :). It was actually an old BANS site which I converted over, didn’t take me too long, I guess a couple of hours. To build it would have taken me around 3 hours I guess.

    Typically for each page I:
    1) Added the meta info
    2) Added content and images
    3) Selected the affiliate networks (e.g. eBay, Amazon) etc to show productsfrom an entered a keyword.
    4) Selected the show or hide star ratings
    5) Input an Amazon ASIN for customer reviews and how many to display and that was it.

I willl warn you that this isn’t as flexible as WordPress, but then I don’t think anything every will be. Not putting you off, I just don’t want people to be under any misconceptions.

    Hey Junior,

That was my aim really, there are some fantastic WordPress plugins out there like phpBay, ReviewAZON, phpZon etc etc and I don’t want to replace them, heck I couldn’t even come close. What I did want to do is provide an alternative for those users who aren’t that used to WordPress, it’s a fantastic plaform which I love but many people don’t want to use it.

    Ben,

    Looks really great!

I see that affiliate links can be cloaked from within the script. Do we have the ability to change the cloaked phrase?

I.E. Instead of Amazon links looking like http://www.grillr.com/product can we change it to http://www.grillr.com/item?

    Hi Rochelle,

    Thank you.

Not at present, no. The affiliate links are automatically cloaked by the script by default on installation.

    Ben :)

    Hi Ben

Really liking the look of this. How hard is it to become an affiliate of shopping.com. I see they are asking for an example of a site with proper content etc, which is fine but will it matter if there are affiliate links already on it to different programmes? I don’t want to go ahead if there’s the possibility that I won’t be accepted so before I take the plunge I thought I’d ask for your tips on being accepted (if any)

    Hey Cherie,

I’m not going to lie to you it can be a challenge to become an affiliate of shopping.com, only in that it seems to take forever to be approved (a few weeks) but no different to ePN in that instance.

After some lengthy discussions with their UK affiliate manager some time back they aren’t looking for thin affiliate sites, nor are they looking for sites which are covered in affiliate products from elsewhere. Personally I would create a site and get some traffic to it, you could even apply with a site you already have, just make sure it’s not covered in links from other programs.

    Does that help?

    Hi Ben

thanks for that info, yes it does help. Now to find one that’s clean!

    Ben,

for fear of looking a bit dim, in the application it says how many page views per month, what does the MM mean? – it says less than 5MM, 5 – 7 MM or more than 7MM?

    Hi Cherie,

In all honesty I don’t know, I certainly don’t remember that been there when I completed by application but then that was a good time back.

You could try dropping them an email or just go with the 5MM for now.
