Wordpress Auto Update SoftwareHow much time do you spend updating your WordPress installations and plugins manually? How would you like to be able to update your WordPress core installations and plugins on complete autopilot? Now there's a way to do it.

We all know how important (from a security perspective) it is to keep your WordPress installations up to date but who really has the time, or wants to sit and update every single site they own one by one, especially when you have a large number of sites to manage.

On average updating your sites and plugins will take around 1.5 to 2 minutes per site, if you have 50 sites that's 100 minutes wasted updating WordPress installations and plugins, just think if you do this at least once a month ... that's precious time you could have used to do something far more constructive like build 50 links or write 10 articles.

And that's why I wanted to let you know about this nifty piece of software I've been using to update ALL of my WordPress installations and plugins on complete autopilot. In fact, even whilst I'm sitting here writing this blog post I've got the software working away updating 50 of my seasonal WordPress sites and it's completely hands off once you set it in motion.

It's so simple it's scary, simply enter your domains, wp-admin user names and passwords into the CSV file provided on your computer and start the software. It will then go ahead and:

  1. Visit the wp-admin area automatically
  2. Login to WordPress automatically
  3. Look for WordPress core and plugin updates automatically
  4. Automatically complete the update for you
  5. Logout of WordPress automatically
  6. Move onto the next site automatically

It does all of this whilst you're doing ... well ... something else! Just set it in motion and leave it to work it's magic.

The software has been created by one of the regular members of the phpBay forum (Jarb), so if you are a member there be sure to head over and shoot him any questions you may have as well as see what others have been saying about it. The software also has other automation tools built into it such as a automated password reset bot, indexing bot and others.

You can check it out for yourself here.

I honestly don't say this very often but WP Auto Update really is one of those "must have" products essential for anyone with more than a handful of WordPress websites. I'm certainly wondering how I ever lived without it, I won't be updating manually from now on that's for sure, I'll be running the automation software once per week and letting that do all of the work.
