Easily Complete SEO Analysis on Your Website for FREE!

For the last few weeks I have been playing around with a fairly new keyword tool called Traffic Travis, which was developed by Mark Ling at Affilorama.com . Initially I left the tool on my desktop and did nothing with it but then I decided to give it another go and have a mess around with some of the features and it's actually quite a powerful little tool. The best part is there is a completely FREE version which allows you to do loads of stuff.

For the FREE version the main interface of the tool is broken down into 5 main areas and these are as follows:

  • Keyword Tools
  • Search Engine Tools
  • PPC Analysis Tools
  • Page Analysis Tools
  • SEO Analysis Tools

Now I personally don't use the keyword research tool of Traffic Travis but that is only down to preference, I have always used other tools like Micro Niche Finder and Keyword Elite. But I do love many of the other in-built tools, the Page Analysis Tool and the SEO Analysis Tools are two favorites of mine.

The Page Analysis tool is particularly useful for SEO newbies who still haven't quite got a grasp on what things they need to do to properly optimize a web page. Now essentially the tool isn't going to do anything for you that you wouldn't be able to do by yourself, lets face it we can all open up our page source and estimate our keyword density or see if our main keyword appears between the H1 tags. But the fact is that this tool brings all that important data needed for SE ranking into one place and tells you exactly how you need to improve the page you are analyzing for the particular keyword/keyphrase you have chosen. This will save you a lot of time but, as I said earlier, it will also allow SEO newbies to get a good grasp of where they are doing things right but more importantly where they are doing things wrong. You can see this part of the tool in action in the screen shot below, just look how easy it is to analyze your web page for a particular keyword/keyphrase.

The SEO Analysis tool is another great tool and again I have created a screen shot which you can see below of this part of the tool in action.

Simply enter a keyword/keyphrase into the 'Phrase to Analyze Box', select your search territory and click Analyze - it's that simple. What this tool then does is pull a chunk of data from the first top 20 results in Google which are ranking for that keyword or phrase, if you own the premium version you can pull up to 200 results. This result allows you to see immediately how easy or difficult it may be to rank for a particular keyword or phrase you choose to optimize a web page for. It's a simple and straightforward visual interface which enables you to quickly see the following:

  • PR
  • Age
  • Number of Page Backlinks
  • Number of Site Backlinks
  • Total Backlinks
  • If the site is listed in the DMOZ Directory
  • If the site is listed in the Yahoo Directory
  • If the keyword/keyphrase appears in the Title
  • If the keyword/keyphrase appears in the Description
  • If the keyword/keyphrase appears in the H1 Tag
  • Days of Google cache data.

You can then see if the competition for a keyword or phrase is too strong for a keyword or phrase and you can then decide whether you want to pursue it or not. The great thing is that from this point forward you can now see where the top 20 competitors have not optimized their sites well and you can improve on this straight away by doing what they haven't. This will potentially allow you to climb above them in the SE's and gain more traffic and earn more cash. Again this is information that you can find out without Traffic Travis but it allows you to save so much time and again for SEO newbies it is an incredibly useful tool indeed.

There are other things you can do in Traffic Travis such as check where your site ranks, has ranked and has top ranked for a particular keyword or keyphrase. This is a great little feature if you want to keep an eye on how well your link building and other SEO is working out for you and how it's affecting your site rankings. Then if your website isn't moving in the right direction you can obviously do something about it by tweaking your web pages.

I'm not going to go through all of the other things you can do with Traffic Travis because I really think you need to give it a go for yourself. But with the ability to do all of the above plus keyword research across Yahoo, Google, Ask, Windows Live and Wordtracker why wouldn't you try it when it's the small price of.............well FREE.

Hi Ben -I second everything you say about this product – I love the Analysis page it has really proved to be a winner for me especially as I am a beginner. As you know beginners will search and subscribe to everything and all of a sudden they find something that actually works and I can tell you that this software does what it says on the tin.

PS I finally signed up to phpbay via your site – wish me luck

Thanks for that, I love it! As I said in the post some of the tools can be very helpful for beginners but even for pros that can save a lot of time looking at on page and off page SEO factors.
