BANS Handbook

Many of you who are current BANS users or have been BANS users in the past may have received an email from Adam and Kelvin Firminger over the last few days which had details about a new guide that they are due to release very soon...more about that in a second.

For those of you who didn't see the email then basically the comment was made that they (the Firmingers) would not be taking the BANS platform any further in it's future development. However, this may not mean the end of BANS development, Adam and Kelvin have hinted that the sale of BANS to interested parties in the near future is something they are considering and have not yet ruled out. This wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing at all for BANS, I have a lot of things I would personally include into it if I were taking it further into development. BANS certainly hasn't done all it can do in the way of features, in all honesty when V3.0 was released I think that was the point at which BANS really took a big step and became something quite powerful. As you know I am still working on my BANS test site build which I will post later in the week, but even doing this I am coming up with things I think could make BANS better. If Adam and Kelvin no longer want to develop the product then surely the best thing is to let someone else develop it rather than leaving it to fade into internet history.

On a positive note though, the main body of the email detailed the release of a new product from the BANS creators which will be called The Number 1 Way to Make Money Online. Inside they have talked about a step by step guide to building and developing an affiliate website to make money. You can see a brief overview of the content of the guide by visiting their website over at TheNumber1WayToMakeMoneyOnline.com . It looks like they are going to be covering stuff related to Wordpress and possibly phpBay as well so it will be interesting to read exactly what they have covered.

The release date has been set as the 9th of July, so keep your eyes peeled on the web. For BANS users I may even be able to put together some sort of bonus package for those who buy the guide through me.

    Hi Ben,

I was wondering when BANS would no longer be under development. They have really taken a big hit over the last year.

This will really be tough for those developers that have well developed and established BANS sites.

I agree, it will be a shame if it just stops as it is and no further developments are made to it. If I am honest I think A & K will probably sell it, in which case the new developers may really take it to the next level. There are so many things that could be done with it and I am not quite sure why A & K want to walk away from it particularly if it is still selling a steady amount of licenses. I can understand that maybe they feel it’s time to move on but I know if I had a product which was doing well I wouldn’t be selling it or even thinking of selling it.

      Cheers
      Ben
