As we all know there are several ways for you to build an affiliate website, you can hand code it, build in in a CMS (content management system) like Joomla or WordPress or use a built for purpose affiliate builder such as BANS, Storestacker, Multiprofit Websites, Blog profitz etc. When you are considering building an affiliate site which promotes Amazon products you need to consider the tools available to enable you to fully utilize the Amazon affiliate program.
Whilst I've used Joomla and a lot of the built for purpose site builders my favorite tool always has been WordPress and it's the tools which integrate into WordPress that I want to briefly cover today. It's important to point out that a tool is a tool, they won't research, build or promote your website for you and they certainly won't be the deciding factor in allowing you to succeed or fail. For this very reason I currently only use 2 WordPress based tools which enable me to promote Amazon products. But after some research I did find a lot more which will also allow you to integrate Amazon products into WordPress.
Premium Plugins
ReviewAZON Plugin For WordPress
COST: $79
It has to be said that ReviewAZON is one of my personal favorites of all the premium Amazon plugins. The plugin basically allows you to build a complete WordPress review site using the API feeds from Amazon. This means you are able to create complete posts using up to 25 different items of information including item prices, images, descriptions, reviews, features and much more.
The plugin has different item layouts which enable you to create an entire product post, a post with a single item inserted within your content or better still you can bulk create product posts and set them to auto post over the period which you specify.
The plugin also boasts a visual template editor which gives you full control over what pieces of information you display, how you display it and where you display it within your content.
ReviewAZON has full integration with phpBay Pro/Lite, phpOStock Pro/Lite and Vendiva price comparison plugin enabling you to fully monetize your affiliate website.
The product is supported through the dedicated ReviewAZON forum where you can also take part in beta testing and receive all product updates.
phpZon Plugin For WordPress
COST: $49
The phpZon Plugin for WordPress was created by the developer of phpBay and essentailly works in exactly the same way by allowing you to insert a line of code into your page or post with your chosen parameters completed. You will then see the amount of items specified in your phpZon tag displayed within your page or post linking directly back to Amazon. Like with ReviewAZON you have full control over the information you display, except with phpZon it's controlled through the external HTML template files.
phpZon does allows you to create a post containing full product information including item prices, images, descriptions, reviews, features and much more.
Where ReviewAZON and phpZon differ is that phpZon is more designed to add Amazon items to a site which has already been built, whereas ReviewAZON enables you to build a full website using the information from Amazon if you wanted to. Whilst phpZon will allow you to create full product posts it won't allow you to create an excerpt for them to link to your product page like ReviewAZON will.
WP-Robot (Allows multiple affiliate program integration)
COST: Variable up to $140
WordPress Robot is a fairly new WordPress plugin and hasn't been around that long. It's not designed purely for the Amazon affiliate program, it enables you to post items in your blog automatically from additional merchants like ClickBank and eBay along with content from other sites such as Youtube, Flickr and ArticleBase. It basically acts as a content scraper whilst allowing you quite a lot of flexibility over what you post and when you post it.
WP AmaNiche
COST: $47
WordPress Amaniche is basically the same as the Amazon module within WP-Robot and allows you to post full product information, prices and reviews for any Amazon product based on the keywords, price and category which you specify.
Associo-matic WordPress Plugin
COST: $99 plus $20 a year thereafter
Associo-matic is basically a built for purpose platform which enables you to build a complete Amazon affiliate store in a similar way to how you could with BANS, but of course this post is about WordPress so how does it fit in? Basically the guys over at Associo-matic have come up with a WordPress plugin which enables you to link directly to store pages within your Associo-matic store. It's a nice way to be able to drive traffic to your Associo-matic site but the issue which bothers me is that it ultimately over complicates things, there are two databases and two sites to build and maintain instead of one. In addition the template structure of Associo-matic is not the easiest in the world to amend and so making the integration between your store and WordPress look seamless would be a rather difficult task. But probably the most negative aspect of this plugin above everything else is that fact that you MUST own the full Associo-matic license in order to use it and that license will set you back $99 plus $20 a year after that.
FREE Plugins
There are also quite a few FREE plugins on the internet if you search for them but I honestly haven't used any of these myself so please feedback if you have.
WPZon
Plugazon
AWSPress
Amazon Reloaded For WordPress
Amazon Media Manager (AMM)
I realize this post has got rather long, longer than I intended but I hope it has given you a good idea of the different tools available for WordPress and the Amazon affiliate program.
If you've used any of the above and would like to give feedback please comment below and if there are any I haven't mentioned then feel free to post them below as well.

Hi Ben,
Thank you so much for this post. your content is amazing and really informative, plus you make things really easy to understand.
I haven’t started too much with the BANS situation. I am a member of MPWebsites. I am curious to see how it all goes. I am still a complete newbie to all of this.
See you back here soon!
Jacinta :D
@Jacinta Dean – Hi Jacinta, thank you, I’m glad it’s of some help to you.
MPW is a good package, they’ve done well with it. I have sent them over a few suggestions for future versions so hopefully it can only get better.
Your blog is looking great by the way.:)

Ben,
I just got wp-robot and look forward to using it. Since I am about to give up on eBay, I am switching to Ostock, amazon, and other affliates. I have a site that would do well with cafepress items. Do you have a WP plugin suggestion? I don’t want to use prestogifto because of the cut it takes of the profits. I am about to try the popshops – wp plugin. Any suggestions out there???
Ben,
Thanks for fixing my problem. Seems to be fine now. As always, your the best.
Diane
@Diane – Hi Diane, no problem at all, I’m glad it’s all working well now.
There are lots and lots of plugins available, it seems like there are more and more coming every month. There is another plugin for datafeedR but it’s a monthly sub and quite pricey so it really depends if you can generate enough traffic to one site to pay the $19 a month.
We are currently working on a new script to work with another affiliate program, the product is going to be awesome, I’ll be releasing more information in the coming weeks.
Thanks
Ben
Edwin from WP Amaniche here. I just updated the plugin and do believe it makes it the top of the line now.
A demo site is at http://sailingwatch.info
Some of the improvements
-Layout wizard
-eCommerce style option
-Menu modules wizard
-Manage screen for products
I made a video of how I made that demo site in a few minutes and that is at http://wpamaniche.com/video/amaniche_update.html
