Generating Article Ideas – The ‘RIGHT’ phrase!

In the last post you'll remember that I spoke about using the FREE keyword tools available to you, such as Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery and the Google Keyword Tool to find article ideas for your niche website. In this post I just want to briefly touch on the main things to consider before pursuing one of these phrases.

Before you go after any keyword or phrase you are going to want to ask yourself a couple of questions before you spend the time trying to get your site to rank well for it:

  1. What are the searchers intentions?
  2. How will you 'monetize/convert' a visitor to a sale?
  3. How well can you rank for your chosen phrase and is it worth it?

What are the searchers intentions?

This is probably the most important out of all factors to consider. If the person searching types a phrase which demonstrates no commerical intent whatsoever then there is going to be very little point in targeting it. By using our 'query' keywords and 'buying' keywords in the last post to search for a target phrase we should have been able to identify potential phrases which do offer some degree of commercial intent. Taking the phrase "how to buy a hybrid golf club" as an example, this phrase recieves around 20-30 daily searches, depending on which tool you use, which is a pretty decent volume Read the rest of this entry »

As we all know content is king, there is no denying that adding fresh, relevant content to your website will help with your rankings in the search engines providing it is done correctly. But one thing which people often struggle with is what content topics to use on their website, I know this is something I used to struggle with when I first started out online. But it doesn't have to be as hard as you think.

There are essentailly two things you need your content to have and they are:

  1. Relevance to your reader and to the theme of your niche website
  2. A demand for that content in the organic searches

This sort of content isn't at all hard to create and can be even easier to rank well for providing you know where to look for the right keyword phrases. Two excellent tools I love to use to find article ideas for my website are the FREE Wordtracker keyword tool and the FREE Keyword Discovery tool. Both of these tools generate some great long tail keyword phrases which can give you some great ideas for articles, better still because the phrases are longtail and very specific they are often very easy to rank for. Getting FREE Traffic to Your Affiliate Website

I don't know if you have seen this system yet or not but I have been giving it a go over the last few weeks with some good results already. The system is known as the Free Traffic system and you can read more over at FreeTrafficSystem.com .

Free Traffic System

The Free Traffic System is a new and FREE way to build quality one way links to your affiliate site quickly and easily. We all know the importance of getting quality back links to your websites in order to build your traffic and your search engine rankings, in essence if you don't bother building back links to your sites then you may as well give up and walk away now.

Building back links to your site isn't particularly difficult but it can be quite time consuming if you're going to do it right. Of course you can pay someone else to do it for you, and while this is okay, you have to be sure you know where the person is getting the links from and whether they're trustworthy. Therefore Id rather not outsource unless I have to.

The main thing to remember is that building one quality back link to your website is more effective than building 20 poor quality ones. If done right then a mix of decent on page SEO along with a well built up set of quality back links can get you onto page one of Google.

One well known and effective way of getting back links to your website is by using article traffic and this is what the Free Traffic System does. It allows you to submit your quality content to related blogs in a steady and controlled fashion. Within the articles you will also have two links back to your website which use the anchor key phrase which you specify, and that's the term you are trying to rank for. All articles are submitted and then have to be approved by admin over a period of 48-72 hours, the articles tend to be 'drip fed' through into the system and the back links will come over a few days, which is great because they appear much more naturally to the search engines.

The content you submit must be unique, don't go submitting caffeinated content into the system. At present it seems to work quite well, but if people begin to submit rubbish into the system then potentially the value of the links for your sites will decrease. I would either recommend writing the content yourself or paying someone to do it for you, you can get a good 500 word article written for around $1.50 per 100 words from people in the forums and a few other places. What people will be asking now is what about duplicate content? There will inevitably be a risk of having duplicate content however the system does come with a built in article spinner which if used properly will allow you to create 5 or more articles from one original piece of copy. And you can use copyscape.com to check the uniqueness of the articles you are going to be submitting.

The system itself is quite easy to use and it will take to around 30 minutes or so to properly spin one of your articles and get it submitted into the system but if you do this once a week for a month you will build up 120 decent quality back links to your site. If you also add one of your own blogs into the system then they will also give you an additional 7% of back links on top of the 30 you can do at any one time which is quite good.

What I would say is that if you are at all unsure of using this system then try it out on one of your lesser visited sites first and see what sort of effect you get, watch your stats and your visitors closely and see what happens. My feeling is that it's just another way of building good back links to your site, traffic and search engine rankings. If you do need me to explain any of the process in any further detail or provide any further tutorials on the blog then simply let me know and I will see what I can do. Give it a go and let me know how you get on.
